Newcastle Eagles ended the Sheffield Sharks unbeaten run in Friday nights game with an overtime win 116-106 .
Ryan Patton hit a late three-pointer and three free throws in the closing seconds to take the game to extra time for the Sharks at 100 apiece.
But the Eagles hit back with a 14-1 run early in overtime to secure the win the victory. Charles Smith scored 33 and Joe Chapman hit 32. Marcus Stout poured in 30 for the Sharks.
Mersey Tigers moved joint second in the BBL table with a win over Essex Pirates. Andrew Sullivan top-scored with just 14 points, the game finished 69-45.
