Carmelo saves Knicks from Miami sweep with 41 points

The New York Knicks escaped being knocked out the playoffs on Sunday with a 89-87 win against the Miami Heat in Game 4. Tonights game was the first time the Knicks have won a Playoff Game since April 2001.

Carmelo led the Knicks with 41 points. Amar’e Stoudemire returned from his hand injury after punching a fire extinguisher and scored 20 points and 10 rebounds. Baron Davis was stretchered off court after slipping with 5:15 left in the third quater after injuring his right knee. The Knicks have announced that Davis has dislocated right patella. Tests will be done Monday.

LeBron James scored 27 points for Miami and Dwyane Wade had 22 points with Chris Bosh adding 17. The Heat lead the series 3-1 and Game 5 will be played back in Miami on Wednesday night.
